The number of young people in the UK using libraries has increased over
the last five years,according to new research.
I remember the first day that I came to UK clearly,feeling
excited,nervous and expected. I worried about everything I’ll go through
in England but have never considered that I’ll leave England for so
soon. l love UK and miss China…
The first day that I came to UK, I went to homestay meeting Chris and
Kevin,who are my “family” in England. They are very friendly to me, and
I feel at home together with them,especially with Chris.There are two
dogs at their home, I scared dogs so that they shut the dog’s mouth when
I have supper.The dinner are the most delicious food these days.
A comprehensive study by the Carnegie UK Trust looked at the habits of
10000 people across the country.
But how to go to school is a big challenge to me, we have to go to
school by bus.It was the first time that I’m on bus by myself in a
foreign country, but I think I did it well. At least I didn’t get lost!
The school days is filled witn many things: We have lessons in the
morning till 12:45.And in the afternoon we have many activities like
swimming,golfing,shooting,playing ball games…I learn a lot of new
knowledges in class, and the teacher is humour.
People aged 15-24 in England were the most likely age group to use

The results suggested that around half of the population of the UK and
Ireland contiue to use libraries.
Nearly half of people aged 24 to 34 still visit them according to the
study-a rise of 2%.
However,overall library use in England declined by 4% over five years
with the public using libraries less frequently.
There was also a drop in the number of older people using libraries.
The study involved 5000 interviews which took place in 2011,and a
further 5000 interviews last year.
Researchers then compared the two sets of data,which was broken down by
